Citizen Councilor Alert!

New Round of Forums to Begin April 17th
It's a topic you hear talked about everywhere -- trust in government.  Are our public officials really listening?  Why don't people trust their government, and what can be done about it so that more people can be confident in making representative democracy work?

The BLOG Has Launched!
This is a great way to explore the ever-expanding universe of public engagement through opinion and commentary, and to keep up on all that is happening through Countywide Community Forums.  Join the conversation at www.SocialCapitalReview.org

New Leadership at Countywide Community Forums
We welcome new CCF Director, Matt Rosenberg who was appointed by the King County Auditor in January as the new "Councilor Coordinator" to manage the CCF program.  Matt brings extensive experience in civic engagement, citizen campaign work and urban issues.  He is a respected journalist and blogger.  We are grateful for Matt's commitment and expertise to help us expand CCF in 2010.

CCF Founder to Retire
Richard Spady, founder and Coordinator of Countywide Community Forums, is retiring from the program. In recognition and appreciation for his deep passion to improve the civic lives of the people of King County and Washington State, the King County Auditor re-appointed Dick as "Coordinator Emeritus".  Dick's son, John Spady, Deputy Citizen Coordinator for CCF said, "Thank you Dick, and thank you dad, for your vision and help to strengthen our civil society, its civic infrastructures, and our sense of community."

Countywide Community Forums is King County’s award-winning and innovative public engagement effort. This program is designed to make democracy more user-friendly and to bring the public forum to your kitchen table, neighborhood, and workplace.  Over 1800 people are registered and many are making their opinions count while building stronger connections to their community.
